1. Product and release status
Stonefern StreamLink v0.2.7 is currently labeled Beta. Non-stable releases may contain defects, incomplete functionality, or compatibility problems.
2. Authorized accounts and channels
Connect only Twitch and music-service accounts you own or are authorized to use. You are responsible for which chat roles are allowed to control playback.
3. Twitch authorization
StreamLink uses Twitch OAuth Device Code authorization and requests chat read/write scopes needed for supported commands. Provider permissions and APIs can change over time.
4. Local media control
Basic playback controls use Windows media sessions exposed by compatible players or browsers. StreamLink controls playback on your PC; it does not transmit the music audio to viewers or to Stonefern.
5. Spotify enhanced controls
Optional Spotify enhanced controls use Authorization Code + PKCE and may require Spotify Premium or provider-specific developer access. StreamLink does not request or store a Spotify Client Secret.
6. Local credentials
OAuth tokens are stored encrypted with Windows DPAPI for the current Windows user. Non-secret settings and optional nowplaying.txt output are stored locally. Protect your Windows account and local profile accordingly.
7. Broadcast rights
StreamLink does not grant music synchronization, public-performance, streaming, or other content rights. You remain responsible for complying with Twitch, music-provider, copyright, and other applicable rules.
8. Updates and beta status
Automatic update checks may contact stonefernworks.com over HTTPS after that feature is enabled in a signed release. StreamLink 0.2.7 is a beta release and provider behavior can change independently of Stonefern.
