StreamLink controls playback; it does not license music: connecting Twitch chat to your local player does not grant rights to broadcast a song. You remain responsible for provider rules and music rights applicable to your stream.

Connect chat to the media controls you already use.

StreamLink listens for supported Twitch chat commands and applies them to a compatible Windows media session on the streamer’s own PC. The music remains in the selected player; StreamLink is the control bridge, not an audio relay or downloader.

  • Read the active track and artist with !song or !music
  • Allow broadcaster/moderator playback commands such as play, pause, skip, and previous
  • Target Auto, Spotify, Apple Music, or compatible browser media sessions
  • Use optional Spotify OAuth + PKCE for enhanced volume, shuffle, repeat, and playlist aliases
  • Store OAuth tokens encrypted with Windows DPAPI for the current Windows user
  • Write optional nowplaying.txt output for OBS without transmitting the music audio to Stonefern
